Oversaw all finance, accounting, HR and facilities operations of Some Spider Studios, a 125 person digital media company comprised of four consumer facing identity brands (Scary Mommy, The Dad, Fatherly and Cafe).

During my tenure we closed a venture capital equity round, signed a working capital line with Silicon Valley Bank, completed the acquisition of Fatherly and built out a four person accounting team that successfully underwent its first audit.

Developed the initial FP&A infrastructure which included hiring a nine person finance team and building a corporate model for the CEO/CFO that distilled the organizational structure into a series of identifiable business initiatives.

In addition, I lead the effort on closing two financing rounds for $200M each with Comcast/NBCU

Third person hired into the organization. During my tenure we underwent a roll-up effort of the electronic music industry in which I served as the point person for all finance needs, including: Pre-IPO equity round, 20+ M&A deals, $260M IPO, $220M senior secured debt offering and development of the FP&A team/process.

Managed financial planning/strategy for LAIKA, an animation company owned by Phil Knight of Nike. Reported directly to CFO. Activities include overseeing forecast and budget process, generating audited financials, creating Board presentations and evaluating financing options. Evaluated distribution, licensing, merchandising, sponsorship and new business opportunities.

Part of three person team working directly for CFO and COO on all finance and business development. Prepared comprehensive financial models for film acquisitions, cash flow waterfalls, budget planning, film fund structuring, third party financing and new business development opportunities.

Provided strategic and financial analysis for Picturehouse, HBO’s theatrical distribution unit, and New Media Ventures, HBO’s online/new technology unit.

Originated, modeled and negotiated $120 million in equity for affordable housing developments. Acted as point of contact between developers, bankers, attorneys, architects and government agencies.

Prepared comprehensive financial models and drafted various presentations in connection with M&A, project finance, ratings advisory, debt/equity offerings, client presentations and intra-firm research.
