I help lead the Capital, Credit and Structuring team within the Financial Risk Advisory practice, advising financial institutions on capital structure and other strategy, treasury and finance topics across different situations.
My work has a strong legal and regulatory aspect (interpretation of rules, regulatory engagement) and commercial (options analysis, modelling, optimisation of plans and ratings, levers for enhancing capital allocation).
A significant component of my role has been in business development, where I originated several new mandates and follow-on engagements. Below are some of the key strategic actions I have supported clients with.

I started a financial consulting firm, Symphonious, after leaving Barclays which then folded into Be Consulting, a boutique consultancy with c200 colleagues, with the aim of expanding the CFO Advisory practice, developing an ESG offering, and developing a compelling alternative to the “Big 4” firms.
Over the two-year period we hired 15 new team members and developed the firm’s capabilities, translating into a c25% increase in revenues within our practice through originating significant new mandates.

I spent 12 years at Barclays primarily working across Finance, Treasury and Operations, latterly moving away from functional roles (covering statutory reporting, management reporting, financial planning and analysis) and onto projects.
As my time at Barclays progressed, opportunities emerged to engage at the most senior level of the bank on projects mandated to solve some of the most pressing Group-wide strategic and regulatory challenges.
Alongside, team management responsibilities and opportunities to influence the future direction of the function, including organisational restructuring and broader cost reduction initiatives, grew.
