I work with nonprofits to develop social impact dashboards that satisfy four basic criteria. First, they are intuitive and easy to understand. Second, they focus on objective data rather than technical economic analysis. Third, they illustrate whether the nonprofit is moving the needle on their own mission. Fourth, they show whether the nonprofit's beneficiaries are doing at least as well as the rest of the country.
