As an Associate with Ares' Real Estate Group, I participate in the sourcing, underwriting, and structuring of investment opportunities across the capital stack including senior debt, mezzanine debt, & preferred equity investments in commercial real estate.

Managed property acquisitions and investments at a DC-based real estate investment and development firm.
• Acquisitions: Source, underwrite, and secure new development opportunities.
• Structured Investments: Led efforts to launch a subsidiary that provides short-term capital for real estate projects, which included developing a detailed business plan and criteria for the various loan products offered. Currently oversee underwriting, investment vehicle structuring, & capital raising efforts.

Underwrote and structured commercial real estate investments through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. .
• $35M loan for development of luxury hotel/private members club in Meatpacking District: Underwrote loan, performed due diligence, conducted market research, and prepared EB-5 compliant business plan documenting the project’s economic viability.
• $25M loan for condo/time-share development in Aspen, CO..

Supported pre-development, acquisitions, and asset management efforts at a NY-based social impact real estate firm. Over the summer, I managed the preparation of a 160-page RFP response, performed due diligence, conducted market research, underwrote the acquisition of a multifamily property, and prepared quarterly asset management reports for fund vehicles.

Analyzed energy efficient technologies in commercial buildings for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Building Technologies Program. The role involved extensive Excel modeling, technical writing, market research, and creation of public presentation materials for the client.

Worked on the project management teams of two core-and-shell office buildings for a large general contractor. The role involved coordinating with external consultants, managing subcontractors, estimating, bidding, and writing contract scope.
