Tender of Amu Darya Basin oil blocks in 2011 resulted in contract with an affiliate of CNPC that had a ten-year value to Afghanistan estimated at $4.8 billion. Tender of two blocks in Afghan-Tajik Basin with estimated 300 to 500 MMBOE of resources resulted in contract with consortium.
