Project Overview

Operations - Supply Chain Management
Looking for a consultant to work as part of a team of consultants on projects dealing with logistics and trade compliance for our Life Sciences/Pharma clients. These projects start out as an assessment of logistics capabilities and then transition to day to day logistics execution and ongoing support for a period of 6-18 months.
An ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience managing shipping and transportation in the life science industry, both within the US and across borders (import and exports). They will have dealt with carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers, and would be familiar with biopharma-related HTCs (harmonized tariff codes) and global trade compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Support logistics and trade compliance related initiatives, such as assessments and improvement initiatives, authoring procedures, ensuring data integrity, conducting training, developing communications tools, development of scorecards, and redesigning processes to leverage systems and software.
- Support day-to-day logistics and trade compliance activities:
1. Serving as the primary day-to-day contact for Customs Brokers (CB).
2. Collecting (a)(1)(A) files and summary reports from the CBs on a monthly basis.
3. Reviewing broker files for accuracy.
4. Reviewing suspect valuations as part of a monthly 7501 audit.
5. Scheduling and conducting QBRs to discuss import and export issues.
6. Assisting in CB management, and auditing CB invoices for billing accuracy.
7. Developing and maintaining TC SOPs
8. Arranging for new employee TC training, and scanning and filing the training records.
