Interim Controller for Influencer Marketing Agency

-An influencer marketing agency is looking for a part time interim controller. The primary focus for the controller will be on financial reporting (both internally and externally), financial forecasting, state by state reporting, sales metrics, management dashboards, annual operating plan, and state & local tax related items.

Responsibilities include:
-Ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulations
-Maintain internal control and safeguards for programs, revenue, and costs.
-Coordinate all audit activity and prep of Form 990 and all regulatory filings.
-Analyze financial data and report on it (monthly, quarterly, annual statements).
-Manage organizational cash flow forecasting to maximize ROI
-Oversee accounting and payroll systems, risk management strategies, legal activities
and ensure regulatory and legal compliance.

-Familiarity and understanding of social media platforms and influencers is helpful (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
-The ideal candidate has between 5-10 years of experience in finance & accounting, ideally beginning in accounting & audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders; CPA preferred, preferably in the marketing and/or advertising industry.

**The company works 100% remotely, but the ideal candidate is located in either San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, LA, or San Diego so they can occasionally link up with and meet other colleagues (post Covid-19). These cities are where most of the other employees live. However, the client is open to candidates in any location.
**This engagement could last indefinitely for the foreseeable future (much longer than 4 months). The company currently has a fractional CFO who is retiring, and they are looking to replace their fractional CFO with a fractional controller.
