Quality Assurance Consultant for CPG Products

-A company with a focus on skin care products, lotion, and nutritional supplements for children is seeking 3 quality assurance consultants to assist with product development, product quality, and product regulatory related items across 3 different categories: beauty & skin care, nutritional supplements, and consumer & personal hygiene products (seeking a quality assurance consultant for each of the three categories)
-The consultants will help write a quality assurance specification for new skin care products. For example, when a new lotion is produced, the consultant would put together the QA spec to make sure that the lotion is made by the manufacturer on a consistent and safe basis.
-The consultants will need to have a strong understanding of the following: risks associated with microbial growth, different parts of the supply chain, interactions between product & packaging, different handling & storage conditions, shelf life concerns, and the consultant must be able to interpret & analyze data from different labs that have tested the product.
-The consultant will join calls and conferences with the manufacturers and the product development team in-house to give input on product formulation. Ultimately, once a product is formulated, the consultant will help conduct a risk assessment and design a product trial to make sure the product that was developed is manufacturable. The consultant would write a quality specification that specifically outlines criteria that the product needs to be tested for and the criteria that the product needs to meet, prior to being purchased by the company. The overall objective of this project is to reduce liability and the likelihood of a damaged product.
-The ideal candidate has had direct experience in a quality assurance role at a large player like Unilever or P&G.
**This project will average 5-10 hours per week over the course of the engagement. If it is a mutual fit, the project could extend much longer than 3 months.
