TB Revenue and GP Analysis by Part #

I need help improving a monthly financial metrics tracking file. Specifically, the analyst on the job gets a monthly download from the company's reporting system in excel and his process of updating the file on a monthly basis is very time consuming and I think the model/process could be revised to save lots of time. This monthly download is typically less than 5,000 rows of data and includes revenue by item # for that month, as well as other info (e.g., quantity of parts shipped, and all COGS items for that item, as well as implied gross profit). With each new month a new tab is added to the file (e.g., most recent month provided was March '15, or "3-15"), and then the analyst has 8 "summary" tabs at the beginning of the file that search for the info on the monthly tabs. With each new month about 40 new item #s are added, so this leads to lots of manual updates (e.g., inserting 40 or so rows into the 8 summary tabs so the formulas pick up the new items).
